Publicly traded company BM&FBOVESPA was created in 2008 by bringing together the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) and Brazil's futures and commodities exchange (BM&F).
Bovespa offers equities, securities, financial assets, indices, interest rates, agricultural commodities, and foreign exchange futures and spot contracts.
It has offices in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná and Ceará.
Rio de Janeiro Stock Exchange manages all the equities in Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Goias and Distrito Federal. It also manages part of the equities of Bahia and São Paulo. In total, 35% of Brazil's shares are in Rio Stock Exchange.
